Voicemail
Voicemail allows you to access your phone messages while you're at work or away from your business. Customize your greeting to let people know they’ve reached the right person.
To access and set up your voicemail for the first time
When you have a new voicemail, your phone will alert you. When you pick up your handset, you'll hear a stutter tone. Also, if your business phone includes it, you'll see a message waiting indicator light.
- Access your voicemail system using one of these methods.
- If you’re using your business phone, dial *98.
- If you’re accessing your voicemail from a different location, dial the access number: 1.800.793.5050.
- Enter your 10-digit phone number and then #. Then, enter your voicemail PIN and #.
- Midco provides your voicemail PIN during service setup.
- The first time you access your voicemail, the system will prompt you to initialize the setup.
- If you have already completed this, you will hear a message with details about your current voicemails.
- After the tone, record your name, and press #. Your recording will play back.
- To change your recorded name, press 1.
- To save your recorded name, press #.
- Choose one of these greeting types, and follow the voice instructions.
- For a personal greeting, press 1. After the tone, record your greeting, and press #.
- For a system-generated greeting that includes your name, press 2.
- For a system-generated greeting that includes your phone number, press 3.
- For a system-generated greeting without your name or phone number, press 4.
To access your voicemail after initial setup

To access your voicemails when you have voicemails

- Access your voicemail system. You will hear a message with details about your current voicemails.
- Choose one of these options, and follow the voice instructions:
- Press 1 to play messages.
- Press 2 to send a voicemail message.
- Press 3 to manage greeting options.
- Press 4 for manage mailbox settings.
- Press 7 to leave the mailbox and log in as another subscriber.
- Press 0 for help.
- Press * to exit.
To transfer calls directly to voicemail
To manage your out-of-hours greeting from your voicemail
- Access your voicemail system. Press 3 to go to the greetings menu.
- From the greetings menu, press 6 to access the out-of-hours menu. An announcement states whether your out-of-hours greeting is currently active.
- If your out-of-hours greeting is currently turned off, you can make the following choices:
- Press 1 to turn the greeting on. You are then returned to the start of the out-of-hours menu.
- Press * to exit to the previous menu.
- If your out-of-hours greeting is active, you can make the following choices:
- Press 1 to review or re-record your out-of-hours greeting. An announcement plays back your out-of-hours greeting.
- Press 1 to re-record it.
- Press 2 to leave it as is.
- Press * to return to the previous menu.
- Press 2 to review or change your working hours. Refer to Scheduling your out-of-hours greeting for more instructions.
- Press 1 to review or re-record your out-of-hours greeting. An announcement plays back your out-of-hours greeting.
- Press 3 to turn off your greeting. You are then returned to the start of the out-of-hours menu as above.
- If your out-of-hours greeting is currently turned off, you can make the following choices:
- Press * to exit to the previous menu.
To schedule your out-of-hours greeting
- Access your voicemail system. Press 3 to go to the greetings menu.
- From the greetings menu, press 6 to access the out-of-hours menu.
- Once your out-of-hours greeting is active, press 2 to review or change your working hours. An announcement plays back the current schedule used for your out-of-hours greeting.
- If you are using a standard schedule:
- Press 1 to use another standard schedule.
- Press 2 to use a custom schedule.
- Press * to exit.
- If you are using a custom schedule:
- Press 1 to use a standard schedule.
- Press 2 to review or modify your custom schedule.
- Press * to exit.
- If you are using a standard schedule:

Choosing a standard schedule
- Access your voicemail system. Press 3 to go to the greetings menu.
- From the greetings menu, press 6 to access the out-of-hours menu.
- Once your out-of-hours greeting is active, press 2 to review or change your working hours. An announcement plays back the current schedule used for your out-of-hours greeting.
- You can select from the following standard working hours schedules.
- Press 1 to use Monday to Friday, nine to five, closed on holidays.
- Press 2 to use Monday to Friday, nine to five, working on holidays.
- Press 3 to use Monday to Friday, eight to four, closed on holidays.
- Press * to exit without making any changes.
In each case above, pressing a key activates the selected schedule and returns you to the Review Schedules menu.
Reviewing or modifying a custom schedule
For custom working hours schedules, your out-of-hours greeting will play all day on public holidays.
- Access your voicemail system. Press 3 to go to the greetings menu.
- From the greetings menu, press 6 to access the out-of-hours menu.
- Once your out-of-hours greeting is active, press 2 to review or change your working hours. An announcement plays back the current schedule used for your out-of-hours greeting.
- You can select from the following options:
- Press 1 to review your current schedule. Your current schedule is announced.
- Press 2 to modify your current schedule.
- To select the day whose schedule you want to change, press the number of that day. Press 1 for Monday, press 2 for Tuesday, and so on through 7 for Sunday.
- Press 9 to clear your schedule for every day of the week.
- Press * to finish modifying your schedule and exit.
Changing the custom schedule for a selected day
- Access your voicemail system. Press 3 to go to the greetings menu.
- From the greetings menu, press 6 to access the out-of-hours menu.
- Once your out-of-hours greeting is active, press 2 to review or change your working hours. An announcement plays back the current schedule used for your out-of-hours greeting.
- Press 1 to add a new period.
- Enter the start time in the requested clock format. This will either be in 24-hour or 12-hour format, depending on the format used where you live.
- Enter the end time in the requested clock format.
- An announcement states the day and times you selected.
- Press 1 to use the schedule as announced.
- Press 2 to change the times.
- You will then be asked if you want to copy the schedule to another day.
- Enter the number of the day to which you want to copy the schedule. Press 1 for Monday, press 2 for Tuesday, and so on through 7 for Sunday.
- Press # if you do not want to copy the schedule.
- Press 2 to change or delete the current schedule.
- Press 1 to change it.
- Press 2 to delete it.
- To select the next period, press #.
- To exit without deleting your schedule, press *.
- Press 9 to clear your schedule for every day of the week. An announcement asks you to confirm your decision.
- Press 1 to confirm your decision.
- Press * to return to the previous menu without making any changes.
- Press * again to finish modifying the schedule for this day.
To turn on extended absence voicemail greeting
- Access your voicemail system using one of these methods.
- If you’re using your business phone, dial *98.
- If you’re accessing your voicemail from a different location, dial 1.800.793.5050.
- Enter your 10-digit phone number and then #. Then, enter your voicemail PIN and #.
- Midco provides your voicemail PIN during service setup.
- Press 3 to work with your greetings, and then 2 for an extended absence greeting.
- Choose one of these options, and then follow the voice instructions.
- To turn on the extended absence greeting, press 1.
- To review or record it, press 2.
- To enable or disable allowing caller to leave message, press 3.
